Selected Links

Below are a few selected links to some of our favorite sites.

Canoe & Kayak Links

Rutabaga Paddlesport ShopRutabaga - A premier paddlesport shop in Madison, Wisconsin. Canoes, kayaks and tons of great gear. We purchased our We-no-nah Minnesota II Kevlar canoe from them and lots of other cool gear. They know what they're doing and they love doing it. Each year they host Canoecopia—a massive paddlesport show. They also have a great links page.

Chequamegon Adventure CompanyChequamegon Adventure Company C.A.Co. in Minocqua, Wisconsin offers canoeing, kayaking, camping, and adventuring gear and great expert-guided canoe and kayak tours. Tours include Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Turtle Flambeau Flowage, and others. They offer lessons ever Tuesday night at 6 pm [Memorial Day through Labor Day] at their shop - right on Lake Minocqua.

Canadian Canoe Routes - A community of paddlers who share a love of Canada's wilderness areas and their passion for exploring it by canoe. On the web site you'll find hundreds of route descriptions, gear information and reviews, tips, tricks and techniques and active discussion forums.

see kayaksSEE Kayaks is the largest directory of sea kayaking related web sites. It contains the most links to sea kayaking related sites on the web. It includes, businesses, clubs, discussion groups, events, resources, and publication links. It's sponsored by Guillemot Kayaks.

Some of My Personal Interest Links

The following links are of sites other than canoe or kayak sites - an eclectic list of shameless plugs for our good friends, work associates, design work from my design firm, and sites of particular interest to us.

Yellowfield Biological Surveys - Dave Schmoller heads up Yellowfield Biological Surveys which specializes in botanical surveys, wetland delineations, vegetation monitoring, and rare plant surveys. Truly a great friend to have along on a canoe trip or tromp through the woods. He's an amazing resource of knowledge about the habitats from Michigan to Montana. Want to know more about the habitat you're canoeing through, just point to a plant and ask, "what's that?"

Northern Design Services - Home Building Contractor - Dale Blank is the designer and builder of the log cabin where we now live. We've never regretted moving from Ohio to the northwoods of Wisconsin and Dale's fine craftsmanship made it possible to do so. He creating a home to keep us warm during our long winters and beautiful enough to keep us here year round. Who needs to go on vacation when you live in northern Wisconsin. Thanks Dale!

White Pine Lodge, Ontario Canada - OK, so what if you don't live in northern Wisconsin and you need a great place to get away? Go here. Jeff and Gina Schaut have been life-long friends—I even took their wedding photos (Wow, that's been a while back!). They took over White Pine Lodge from their father and have turned it into a premier Canadian fishing resort.

Stadler Fur Bears - Fur Teddy Bears - This is a site my design firm created for Dean Stadler, a Master Furrier and teddy bear artist. He creates beautiful fur teddy bears from old fur coats. So before you give Grandma's old fur coat to the second hand shop check and see what Dean can do with it. His custom teddy bear creations make nice family heirlooms to pass along to the next generation.

Design Department - Web Design and Marketing - This is our parent company. We're a web design and marketing firm, so if you're in the market for a great web site check us out. We're located in the northwoods of Wisconsin but we've created sites across the US.

PuzzleBuddy - Jigsaw Puzzle Storage Accessory - No more lost puzzle pieces. A simple way to store your unfinished jigsaw puzzles that really works. A must have for every jigsaw puzzler. Roll out PuzzleBuddy on a flat surface, start assembling your puzzle and when you need your table space, just roll it up.
